ARMSTRONG RACING MOTORCYCLES

Rave Motorsport Ltd hold the rights to manufacture the tandem twin Armstrong racing motorcycles developed by Barry Hart, back in the 1980's. Rave Motorsport bought the old Colin Hopper CWH Armstrong concern, which we acquired in 2009. This included the last remaining stock of original Armstrong spares, all original technical drawings for the complete production & works machines (steel framed and carbon fibre framed bikes), much of the original Armstrong tooling and 2 of the last original prototype Armstrong works engines as used by Niall Mackenzie & Donnie McLeod.

The new CMR37 machines are more accurately "continuations" of the original Factory machines rather than "replica's" as they are made mostly from original tooling or from original Armstrong drawings. With lightweight tubular steel frames and alloy swinging arms, these Factory machines were known as the CMW37 and in keeping with the tradition but ensuring the new machines have their own identity, we are naming the new model the CMR37. The steel frames are hand welded in 4130 chromoly steel tube ensuring both precision and attention to detail, whilst the engines are the very last in-house engines designed for the Armstrong Factory GP team updated to the latest modern spec. offering never previously before released Armstrong engine technology coupled to modern engine materials & tuning processes.

We are currently developing and modernising the engine to bring it up to date for use in modern "Post-Classic" racing. Our plans are to campaign a 250cc & 350cc machine in Post Classic events in the 2011 season.
We are lucky enough to have Barry Hart supporting the cause! Barry has kindly offered his assistance to help us bring these bikes back to life again and hopefully get them winning once more ... !
After our development and testing period during the 2010 season, we will be manufacturing a small batch of these motorcycles in both 250cc & 350cc form, which will be eligible for CRMC, Post Classic & ICGP events etc. These all new racing motorcycles are planned to be built for the 2011 season and offer the chance to own a brand new "post classic" machine, with the advantage of a reliable spares source and fully up to date tuning as standard.

In the spirit of the sport, we will be attending several Classic Parades and events as the "Classic Armstrong Racing Team", where we will be reuniting ex-Armstrong Factory riders with original works machines (both Steel & carbon frame bikes) as well as the new ones. We have Niall Mackenzie, Donnie McLeod and Chas Mortimer riding with us as part of the team.
In 2010 we attended the VMCC Festival of 1000 bikes in July and competed at the Assen Centennial TT in September
